Casa Ferreirinha Callabriga Red

A Tribute to Mount Callabriga

The name Callabriga honors Mount Callabriga, located at Quinta da Leda. At its peak, the Romans established a small village called Callabria, whose ruins remain today. The village was built to explore the area's iron sources.

Callabriga is the only non-estate Fine Wine in Casa Ferreirinha's portfolio. It is crafted with grape varieties grown in the Douro Superior, offering a distinct expression of the region.

Tasting
NOTES

Showcasing the power of youth and sun-kissed red and black fruits. There’s a pleasant herbaceous minty character on the nose alongside black fruit, vanilla and blueberry jam with just a hint of balsamic. Initially floral on the palate, followed by red and black fruit, a touch of toasted cacao nibs and spices. There is good acidity, warm alcohol and intense, grippy tannins. This is a wine that successfully harnesses ripeness into a very pleasurable fruit driven wine with the structure to handle time and rich cuisine.

Food
PAIRINGS

This wine needs a meat grill or, of course, Portuguese meat stew. If fine dining try grilled beetroot with pomegranate vinegar.
