Before discovering his true passion for wine, Thiago Frencl worked in hospitality at Hotel Unique in São Paulo and aboard luxury cruise lines including Crystal Cruises.
Learning curve
Having decided to focus on all things oenological, Frencl pursued professional qualifications, eventually achieving the Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 3 Award and later earning the International Sommelier Guild's Advanced Wine Certificate. His time working across the globe on cruise ships and later at São Paulo's Palácio Tangará afforded Frencl an international perspective, as well as deep knowledge of the Brazilian wine market.
Tuju time
Since joining Tuju in 2023, Frencl has managed the restaurant's impressive cellar of more than 1,000 labels. For each season, he and his team create new pairings for the restaurant's menu. Working alongside sommeliers Tiago Menezes and Augusto Romeo and supported by chef Ivan Ralston and director of hospitality Katherina Cordás, he continues to push boundaries, contributing restaurant's continued success.
