Marta Casanova's Special Creation

For Marta Casanova, since day one, the creation of this Port has always been special. It was in 2020, six years later, that she decided it was time to share this nectar and to bottle it. Quinta da Côrte is pleased to announce the launch of the first edition of Quinta da Côrte’s 30 Year Old Tawny Port.

Spirit and Soul of Douro

This wine is perfectly representative of the spirit and soul of the Douro property, which was transformed by Philippe Austruy in 2013. Their 30 Year Old Tawny is part of the mission to produce wines of excellence from this ancient demarcated region. This edition is exclusive, just 220 bottles were produced.

Blend of Old Varieties

The Tawny is a blend of old varieties with an average age of over 80 years, including traditional varieties such as Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, Rufete, and Tinta Amarela. Golden with hints of mahogany, this classy port immediately seduces you with the complexity of its aromas: currants, raisins, liquorice, cinnamon, candied citrus fruit, coffee, cashew nut, caramel, walnuts. Sweet and harmonious in the magnificently broad mouth it shows great complexity. Very tasty, balanced, with freshness, evolving to a long, rich and clean.

Perfect Pairings and Enjoyment

Ideal to pair with cigars or creamy desserts or orange-based sweets. Or just to enjoy a glass on its own and fully appreciate its quality.

Tasting
NOTES

Caramelised pecan nuts, candied orange and smoky aromas. Very concentrated on the palate with well integrated alcohol. Nicely aged; coffee and chocolate, creamy and round, the wine does not feel over extracted but very well balanced. There is still some acidity and freshness, the aftertaste lasts almost forever.

Food
PAIRINGS

A classic pairing would be chocolate and orange based desserts such as chocolate soufflé with a yuzu sorbet. Alternatively, it would be lovely with blue cheese and figs and it could even carry a dessert with alcohol like rum baba.
