Hailing from the Daou Mountain in Paso Robles, cabernet dominates this blend along with a dash of petit verdot and merlot. Sharing the same calcareous clay soils as Saint-Émilion, DAOU Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 is an intensely aromatic wine with concentrated black fruit flavours that pairs a treat with roasted meats.

Daou Mountain's elevation – over 2,000 ft – creates dramatic diurnal shifts, preserving freshness while enabling full phenolic ripeness. Fruit is hand‑harvested and vinified with the precision that has earned DAOU acclaim for producing deeply textured, dark, expressive cabernet sauvignon.

Ageing takes place in a selection of French oak tailored to bring harmony rather than overt spice, resulting in a Cabernet that balances richness, structure and approachability. NOTES

As you'd expect from a California cabernet, this is a rich and opulent wine packed with black plums, blackberries, blueberry jam and sweet spices from the new oak. The fruit is on the jammy side, and made all the richer with indulgent notes of dark chocolate and vanilla. On the palate it's bold and smoky, with muscular, velvety tannins and a persistent sweet fruit finish. Structured and hugely concentrated, it's an intense and satisfying wine.
