Crafted from a blend of cabernet sauvignon, carmenère and merlot from Chile's Cachapoal Valley, Vik Milla Cala 2022 fuses Bordeaux elegance with New World exuberance. Offering a fine balance of black fruit concentration and aromatic lift, cassis, plum and black cherry are framed by sweet spices. A perfect partner for smoked duck in a plum sauce.

Milla Cala forms the approachable yet still premium entry in the VIK range, designed to express the estate's terroir with accessibility. This assemblage is a tribute to its origin: the meeting between the New and Old World. 'Milla' means gold in Mapudungun, while 'Cala' is the Spanish translation of VIK.

Milla Cala

The wine blends several Bordeaux varieties from diverse plots across the property, reflecting VIK's philosophy of balance and harmony. The 2022 vintage was fermented in stainless steel and concrete, then aged in French oak to refine texture.

Milla Cala emphasises freshness, vibrancy and drinkability while retaining VIK's characteristic precision. Notes of red and black fruit, subtle spice and polished tannins highlight the estate's modern, high-elevation identity.

Tasting
NOTES

Black fruits are the name of the game here. The nose is crammed with blackcurrants, plums and black cherries along with herbal savoury notes of rosemary, smoked ham, blackcurrant leaf and bell pepper. The palate mirrors the nose and is framed by sweet oak and baking spices. Rich, concentrated and complex, it's a well-balanced wine with a luscious black fruit profile, precise acidity, fine tannins and long finish. An elegant example of a Bordeaux blend.
