Established in 2012 in the the steep, calcareous sandstone slopes of South Moravian village of Kurdějov, Gurdau is a relatively new voice in the Czech winemaking landscape. The team is committed to sustainability and promoting the rich winemaking history of the region, with grapes hand-harvested in small baskets.

For Gurdau's Veltliner Vinohrádky, grapes are then gently pressed, then fermented and matured in neutral Slavonian oak barrels and aged for 10 months on fine lees. The region's closed valley microclimate, cool nights and limestone‑rich soils give the wine clarity and grip, aligning it stylistically with Central European veltliners while retaining a distinctly Moravian signature.
Visitors to Gurdau can expect architectural splendor, with the winery designed by Aleš Fiala to integrate the area's natural terrain.
