Kevin Lu’s professional journey began early when he secured a role at a Singaporean restaurant while completing his military service. After relocating to Singapore, he worked as an assistant sommelier, spending four years refining his craft under the guidance of seasoned Master Sommeliers and participating in international wine events.

He later advanced his career in Hong Kong, managing wine programmes for Black Sheep Restaurants, including Belon and Buenos Aires Polo Club. In 2021, after nearly a decade abroad, Lu returned to Taiwan and joined Logy, as head sommelier, where he developed a strong collaboration with chef Ryogo Tahara.

He holds the prestigious Association de la Sommellerie Internationale Sommelier Diploma and a Wine & Spirits Education Trust Level 3 Award, and has claimed titles in top competitions, including Taiwan’s Best Italian Wine Sommelier and reaching the Greater China finals of the Gaggenau Sommelier Awards.

In 2023, he achieved an impressive 13th place finish at the Best Sommelier of the World competition, the highest ever for a Taiwanese representative. Earning the title of Master Sommelier marked the pinnacle of his career.

Despite his accomplishments, Lu emphasises the importance of mentorship, continuous learning, and staying connected to one’s passion, inspiring others to pursue their own paths in the world of wine.
