One of Montalcino's oldest estates, Argiano farms an amphitheatre of marl, clay, and limestone soils at 280-300m, benefitting from steady maritime breezes. The revival of the estate under Bernardino Sani and the late Giacomo Tachis set Argiano on a trajectory toward terroir‑first winemaking with strong biodiversity commitments.

Since 2015, Argiano has been focusing on the value of its century-long history and on the connection between soil and sangiovese varietal, with the goal of producing elegant, fine and terroir-driven wines. With the same principles, Solengo went back to the original recipe by Giacomo Tachis: a cabernet sauvignon-based blend with merlot, petit verdot and sangiovese.
Each varietal plays its own role and is enhanced by the fine grain barriques carefully selected by the cellar team. Argiano's approach emphasises tension and freshness through moderate alcohol, minimal racking, and rigorous vineyard selection. Today, the property is fully organic and increasingly geared toward low‑intervention practices, producing wines that combine Tuscan energy with international polish.
