2022

VIK 2022 is a blend of cabernet franc from the estate's 'Las Casas' vineyard grown in clay-loam soils that bring structure and aromatic complexity to the table, and cabernet sauvignon from 'Los Lazos', rooted in sandy-clay-loam soils that create concentrated, elegant tannins. Full of plush black fruit flavours, enjoy it with a juicy steak.

VIK

The flagship VIK blend is the purest expression of the winery's holistic vision, integrating architecture, sustainability and scientific viticulture. The estate's sweeping vineyard basin in Millahue features diverse soils and exposures that allow detailed parcel selection.

The 2022 VIK is built around cabernet franc with contributions from cabernet sauvignon and fermented in small lots for precision. Ageing in French oak (a significant proportion new) adds depth and polish. The wine is known for combining intensity with elegance – ripe fruit, fine tannins and lifted aromatics shaped by the cool nights of the valley.

VIK continues to position itself as one of Chile's leading luxury wine projects.

Tasting
NOTES

Dominated by cabernet franc, on the nose are notes of rich and ripe blackcurrant, blackberries, plums and black cherries that share a glass with floral and savoury aromas such as violets, eucalyptus, rosemary, smoked meats and forest floor. On the palate it's firm, well-balanced and aromatically complex with ripe, grippy tannins and a rich but supple mouthfeel. Hints of tobacco, vanilla, cinnamon and black tea come through. It will open up with bottle age.

Food
PAIRINGS

This hearty Chilean number is crying out for a juicy sirloin steak with wild mushrooms in a peppercorn sauce, beef empanadas, or a massaman curry.
