The 2022 Reserve is sourced from old vines across prime parcels, harvested and co‑fermented to preserve natural complexity. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel before ageing in French oak barrels, allowing the wine to develop layered texture while maintaining vibrancy.

The estate's method balances tradition with contemporary winemaking, resulting in a wine that captures the Douro's depth – ripe berry fruit, schist-driven minerality, and fine, polished tannins. As with all Vallado's premium reds, the Field Blend Reserve highlights the estate's dedication to safeguarding old-vine heritage while producing wines of precision and modern elegance.

NOTES

Made from a field blend of native Portuguese grapes with tinta roriz at the forefront, this Douro Valley red hums with notes of ripe dark fruit, stewed plums, sweet baking spices and smoked meat. The palate is full of earthy complexity, with blackberry, mulberry and sun-ripened cherries interweaving with coffee, pencil shavings, black pepper and flint. Full bodied with an intense fruit expression, high alcohol and firm tannins, the persistent finish is meaty and savoury.
