Made from a blend of cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and merlot planted by the Faraut family in the Manga region of Montevideo, Sacromonte Deux Revês, Uné Destinée 2023 is a Bordeaux blend from Uruguay that sings with plush black fruit and savoury flavours. Rich and powerful, pair it with braised beef cheeks.

Sacromonte's story is rooted in its founders' dream of creating a retreat where nature, hospitality and wine coexist seamlessly. Deux Rêves, Une Destinée ('Two Dreams, One Destiny') pays tribute to the estate's origins and its collaborative spirit. The wine comes from carefully tended hillside vineyards in Maldonado, where granite soils and Atlantic breezes create ideal conditions for producing elegant, finely structured reds.

The 2023 vintage employs a minimalist approach: hand harvesting, native fermentations and ageing in large-format, neutral vessels to highlight the varietal character and the site's mineral tension.

Sacromonte's focus on regenerative practices and low-impact farming underscores its commitment to authenticity. The resulting wine is refined and atmospheric, offering lifted aromatics, subtle spice and a long, graceful finish. It captures the essence of Sacromonte's philosophy – crafting wines that are both expressive and deeply connected to their landscape.

NOTES

This young Bordeaux blend from Uruguay packs a punch with its heady aromas of blackberries, dark plums, blueberries and violets. The same notes are echoed on the palate, which is brimming with plush black fruit. There are tart flavours too, such as hibiscus and cranberry, which share a glass with dried flowers, bell pepper and black tea flavours. It's a rich and powerful wine with firm tannins and bright acidity that will go the distance.
