Its tannat vineyard is one of the coolest on the estate, creating a powerful wine packed with black fruit and savoury flavours that retains its freshness. Enjoy it with smoked short ribs.

Bodega Garzón, located in Maldonado near Uruguay's Atlantic coast, farms more than 1,000 small vineyard blocks planted on decomposed granite with excellent drainage and natural acidity retention. The estate, designed with sustainability in mind, employs precision viticulture: GPS mapping, wind‑channel analysis, and altitude variation are used to match varieties to micro‑sites.

Tannat, the country's flagship, undergoes extended maceration, fermenting in cone‑shaped tanks and ageing in untoasted, large French oak casks to refine tannins. Garzón's gravity‑flow winery allows gentle handling, preserving freshness and phenolic integrity. The wines' Atlantic influence – cool nights and breezy days – is central to their structure and longevity. Garzón's approach blends high‑tech vineyard analytics with a strong sustainability ethos, producing some of South America's most terroir‑distinctive wines.

NOTES

Deep purple in colour, the nose is crammed with dark fruits; blueberries, blackberries, black cherries and black currants that mingle with savoury, smoky, meaty aromas and more floral notes of violet and juniper. A perfect balance of power and elegance, it's a tannat that carries its weight well, delivering bright and expressive aromatics and a rich, well-balanced palate of concentrated black fruit flavours with structured tannins and a long, spicy finish.
