STONEIVK 2024 is a blend of cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and carmenère from Chile's Cachapoal Valley that's fermented in toasted oak barrels for a month then aged in handmade clay amphoras partially buried at Vik's mountaintop La Robleria forest. The result is a wine brimming with black fruit and earthy flavours with fine-grained tannins. Drink it with duck.

STONEVIK

VIK Winery, a striking architectural and viticultural project in Chile's Millahue Valley, was founded by Alexander and Carrie Vik with the ambition of producing world‑class Bordeaux-style blends.

STONEVIK

STONEVIK showcases the estate's stoniest, most challenging soils – parcels chosen for their ability to yield concentrated, structured fruit. The 2024 vintage blends cabernet sauvignon, carmenère and other Bordeaux varieties, fermented in stainless steel and concrete before ageing in French oak barrels.

VIK's philosophy emphasises precision farming, advanced canopy management and micro‑parcel vinification. Stonevik reflects power and minerality, capturing the rugged landscape that defines Millahue and the estate's commitment to high-definition, terroir‑driven wines.

Tasting
NOTES

Still young, this inky purple wine begins with delicate notes of blueberry, blackcurrant, cherry, strawberry and hibiscus that mingle with black olive, fresh earth, tobacco and bell pepper. On the palate it's fresh and elegant with bright acidity and smooth, fine-grained tannins. Offering a well-balanced structure between the fruit and the oak, sweet spice flavours of cinnamon, clove and dark chocolate come through from the oak and the finish is long and menthol.

Food
PAIRINGS

Driven by cabernet franc, this Chilean red is made for duck dishes. Pair it with roasted duck breast with bone marrow, or duck in a honey soy sauce.
